  We visited with friends to throw some fly (first timers) the lady was really patient and helped us create 2 amazing bowls that were painted, glazed and sent it the post. Well worth a visit. They also do cream teas

  This little pottery is hidden away in a secluded garden in Wiggaton, just off the Sidmouth to Ottery St Mary road. When we visited we were the only customers, possibly because of earlier rain. However, we were warmly welcomed and while we browsed the gallery and studio, the lady owner went off to prepare a lovely cream tea for us. Summoned to tea, we chose to sit outside in the garden, where the sun had come out. We were presented with a large pot of tea, warm scones plus lashings of clotted cream and blackcurrant jam - delicious. After tea we resumed our browsing and made several purchases. It is possible to have a lesson in throwing your own pot for a small charge, including glazing and firing. If you are unable to return to collect your pot before the end of your holiday they will post it to you. Apparently the name Ark derives from all the pottery animals made here. Well worth a visit whether for the pottery or the cream tea!
